Hi Jeff, thanks for your inquiry. Currently, the requirements to adopt from Taiwan stipulate that parents must be between 25 and 55 years of age (when adopting an older child). However, other countries including China, Hong Kong and Vietnam have different eligibility requirements that may better match your needs! Read more on our website here and please feel free to reach out to us via email with more specific questions at adopt@holtinternational.org.

Sadly, his adopted mom, my wife Bay, passed away in 2012…and our son passed away in 2014.

I have remarried and my wife Hilary and I have been married for 7 years. My wife is Taiwanese-American. I am inquiring about adopting a child from Taiwan. BUT, I am 62 years old and my wife is 52 years old. Realistically, what would the chances be for a placement given our ages?
